We just had our Christmas party and it was a whole lot of fun. And for the past years, I do my friends' make-up for free. But hey, it's only now that I realize that I should start to capitalize with my talent (raw talent---no make-up trainings whatsoever.  So here is a picture of before and after

For this, I used Kokoryu summer cake foundation in Orange Blush, Nyx Smokey Palette, Fanny Serrano Blush and Nyx Soft Matte Cream in Milan

Maybelline Mineral powder foundation

I said to myself that maybe it's time to try minerals. Wrong move! I'm not sure if it's only Maybelline mineral that doesn't work for me. Why?

The sales person told me it is for full coverage. How about medium coverage? Plus it says that it blends with the skin.Like an ordinary powder, it feels like it's sitting on top of my skin. Then when I try to put on my eyeshadow, it takes alot of colors for the eyeshadow to appear.

Maybe it's just the cold weather but after using this, my skin felt dry. You can put moisturizer first but the finish isn't nice either.

I'd recommend this for the no-make-up look for everyday use.

with the 599 tag price, i should have just bought my usual Maybelline Clear Smooth Foundation

VMV Id buff-buff apricot soap

I needed this since I have skin problems on my body. This is not to be used on the face. Reason why I love this soap is because it has apricot seeds that acts as an exfoliant and 1% salicylic acid for acne concerns.

I love this since it has natural ingredients and has no fancy smell. They say that it takes 3-4 weeks to notice results. So maybe in a few weeks time i would be blogging if ever i have achieved clearer skin. So after using this for a couple of days, i noticed that my skin is smoother. The product claims that it will also reduce skin bumps :)

It is a bit expensive at 350pesos but i think it is worth it since it is not comparable to your usual soap in supermarkets.

Ever since i bought my 1st NYX tube, I wanted more. So right now, i have these shades and they never fail to amuse me. Colors are pigmented, plus there are just tons of colors to chose from. What's great is that a piece costs me only 200 pesos.

Pure Beauty Super Brightening Cleanser

I am a fan of any cleanser/soap that makes your face glow after washing-up. I am currently using my fave, Face Shop Brightening Rice water and then I made another discovery.

I have seen Pure Beauty products in Watsons but didn't even bother to go through the product line. Lucky me, the sales girl gave me a sample. Yup, the cleanser.

A pea size amount of cleanser will do for your entire face. The smell is berry-like...addicting actually! After washing, you can see and feel a difference on your skin---glowing and soft.

Nail Craze

I am so tamad (or should I say busy) when it comes to manicure. So when the urge to put on color strikes, I make sure i get it ASAP. Yup, I paint my own nails and sometimes my mom.

I have been searching for the dark blue polish for about 2 months now. In SM Watsons, I cannot find it since they are all paints are frosted.I was of course looking for an inexpensive one. 2months later, I decided to go to Isetan Cubao. It is the haven for nail polish. All colors imagineable.

After being inspired of fashion blogs, i have decided to include an OOTD. I am not much of a fashionista but now, I'm gonna try. No more rules of what not to wear, nobody will tell me I am baduy. This what makes a single girl (me) to move on with her life.

I do not have much clothes so I'm gonna struggle to mix and match items that I have. Also take note that I am not fond of high heels cuz comfort comes first!

Maybelline Stiletto Mascara

Every time that my tube of mascara needs replacement, I am so excited to purchase a new one.Why? 'Cuz I am still searching for an inexpensive but great mascara to give my lashes the "ooommpphhh" factor

 I came across Maybelline's new Stiletto Mascara and instantly fell in love with it. First, i love the brush. It can reach your shorter lashes unlike some wand that is hard to manage. Second, it does make your lashes longer. In just one application, you can see the difference it does to your lashes. Apply 2 more coats, it gives added volume. Lastly, the price. Very affordable at 350Php for a mascara that can make your eyes sexier :)

P.S It is waterproof so better have your eye make-up remover handy

Make-up remover: Human Nature

I have two Human Nature products that I use as a make-up remover. The reason why I love Human Nature is because I know it does not contain harsh chemicals and the alcohol smell.

Sunflower beauty oil-- claims to be alot of things

• softens rough areas (elbows, knees)
• whitens dark underarms
• makes hair shiny
• lessens dark under eye circles

So in this case, I use it as a make-up remover and it does not disappoint me. If you have waterproof mascara and have a hard time to wipe it off your lashes, you can use this one.

Human Nature Make-up Remover-- also serves as a moisturizer! No harsh smell so you know it is gentle on your skin. This is made from honey and cocoa butter. It does not leave your face shiny afterwards. Thing is, when I used this on my eyes, I feel it a bit hot on my lids. One thing I do not like is the pump of the bottle. This is cream type so one time I had to clean the tube so it can work again.This is a bit costly than the Sunflower Beauty Oil.

Since I am just an amateur make-up artist, make-up cosmetics are still lacking. So, last minute I decided to use Mary Kay foundation. I have mixed the Beige 300 and Beige 400. The result was a-okay. Decided to ditch the Foundation Brush and used the traditional but ever-reliable sponge.

Okay, so i do not know what hit me but i presented myself to be the make-up artist of cousin's upcoming wedding. So last minute, i shopped for things that i did not have. Bored on a Hot Saturday Evening

We all have dark spots, the dark under eye circles we want to hide. So many concealers to choose from, right? Liquid, cream-type, stick-type.


After seeing the ELF website, I was impressed by the price. Inexpensive! That time I needed a concealer. Had to buy the ELF concealer in SM Watsons. This is my verdict:

The consistent is too liquid. I have to use a lot of it just to cover my dark under eye circles as well as blemishes. It seems that my skin easily absorbed the concealer; which is nice since it does not tend to cake and dry out. Coverage wise, not too much. When your face is oily, it won't work. You may use this if you have small dark spots. Otherwise, look for another concealer with thicker consistency like cream.

Pond's Facial Wash

So now i'm a bit frustrated with my skin. It's not as young as it looks, too much break-out and blemishes. Of course, i wanna make sure that I am using the right facial wash.

At first, i was using the Pond's White Beauty after the break-out. It was doing well. You can see that your skin tone is getting lighter, more glowing. I guess after sometime, your face will get tired of the same wash so I just had to stop it.

So

So since I already have my regular "zit alert" I had to try to Anti-Bacterial facial scrub. A few years back, this facial wash did not work for me. Had little bumps on the skin. So i was hesittant to use this again. Good thing, Pond's came up with the 5 peso sachet. Tried the product, and it helped a bit. Of course, it's not instant but you can feel it's working; trying to prevent more break outs.

There are lots of facial wash in the market; you don't know what suits you. I suggest, get the 5 pesos sachet Pond's has and see how it works on your skin

Flirty Lashes

I get awed when i talk to people who has tantalizing eyes. I mean, their eyes can do the talking! And it distracts me when they got dark full lashes, as if luring me to their charm. Nowadays, we don't have to blame our mother's gene anymore ( if you're a guy who wants to get flirty lashes, i don't know how i'm able to help you). Just head to your pharmacy and you'll see tons of mascara lined up. Thing is, which one works?

So what do you want? Water-proof? Lengthening? Volumizing? I am still searching for the best mascara in the entire world so i have tried several already. Thing is, water-proof works best when it comes to volumizing but i always have a hard time removing it after. Anyway, here are the products i have used

The Face Shop Freshian Volumizing
Go and visit Face Shop and discover that not all items here are expensive. This mascara costs around 350 pesos. This is easily washable and gives you flirty lashes. Tip: Put this on your lashes over and over again, about 4 coats and voila! It's as if you just had an eyelash extension. The brush looks the usual but it will surprise you

Maybelline Magnum Express
I just got to try this since most people say they love this treasure. I got a bit disappointed cuz it's not as special as i thought it would be. i didn't flatter my Chinese lashes that much. It made me think, did i pick a defective one? Though i realized the mascara worked best if i  didn't curl my lashes prior. The brush seemed powerful enough though to get through my lashed but it just doesn't work for me.

Maybelline Cat Eye Hypercurl
I got this waterproof so it works for volumizing. The tip is unsual, looks like a comb. Just one coat, your lashes would curl out. The mascara works! Make sure you put enough mascara on your lashes, too much would make it clumpy

 Avon SuperCurl
Well it does not curl. It;s like a normal mascara and it has a watery substance. Though if you applied it on your lashes, it kinda has this volumizing effect. Not much of a wow-factor for me here

Fanny Serrano Cosmetics

Fanny Serrano is not just the Megastar's make-up artist. He is also an entrepreneur who has his own make-up line. These inexpensive products can be bought at a SM department store near you :) Inexpensive is at 350 pesos for most of the products. Here are my FS staples

FS Blush- in Tropical Rose and Golden Peach
I love peachy shades as a blush because of the sun-kissed effect. Golden peach is a light-colored so i end-up putting on more. When finally i used it all up, i bought the Tropical Rose shade. It has a darker peach shade which i love. These blushes have a shimmery finish

FS Concealer
This is like a foundation/concealer stick. I had to buy this one since this is a COSMO BEAUTY AWARD WINNER 2008. I had to cover my dark under eye circles and dark spots. First, this was pretty much okay but after using it for quite some time, i realized that it tends to cake. If you're in an air-conditioned room, this tends to dry up and leave your face with a vivid concealer mark

FS Eyebrow Powder
I am a frustrated girl when it comes to my eyebrows. I feel lazy shaving/tweezing and my eyebrows is quite "invisible". hahaha So my mom told me to use the eyebrow pencil. We shared a single pencil. Yup, what was i thinking, right? I end-up looking old and my eyebrow looked bright in reddish brown. Also, it was not easy learning to put an arch on your brow. Then a friend, recommended me using FS eyebrow powder. She showed it to me and i wanted to buy instantly! It has 4 shades so you can mix the color that fits your brows perfectly. The compact comes with two little brushes

So if you are searching for a local  inexpensive and impressive make-up line, try the Fanny Serrano cosmetics. Talk to the beauty consultant and i'm sure she knows what you need.
